Meet The Team

Dr. Rose Berkun

Anesthesiologist

Dr. Rose Berkun is an anesthesiologist in Western New York. She received her medical degree from University at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and has been in practice for more than 20 years.  She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the State University of New York at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine. She is also an owner and president of Northeast Ambulatory Anesthesia,PLLC, office based anesthesia practice. Dr. Berkun is a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and SUNY at Buffalo Anesthesiology Residency.  She is Past President of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA)


Kathy Ackerman, RN

Nursing and Operating Room Manager

Kathy has been an employee of the Aesthetic Associates Centre since its inception in 1989. She has been the private nurse for Dr. Samuel Shatkin Sr. and Dr. Samuel Shatkin Jr., and manages all operating services.  She is also patient care coordinator for surgical patients and performs Medical Aesthetic treatments including Botox and filler injectables, laser treatments and skin care treatments.  She is the Nutritional Consultant for the practice and is certified Nutritional Counselor, managing TLS weight loss programs and supplements for surgical and skin care patients.  In addition to all of the above, Kathy is an instructor of the Aesthetic Learning Academy, training health professionals on the safety and technique of aesthetic injectables.


Michelle McCarthy, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Michelle is a Dermatologic Physician Assistant that has been in the skincare industry for 10 years.  Prior to her joining the Aesthetic Associates team in 2013, she worked in the Dermatology Clinic at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  Michelle excels in creating aesthetic natural balance to with her facial treatments with injectables.  She has been credentialed in all aspects of Cosmetic Skin Care, and manages our Laser Services as well as helps to develop protocols which are essential for ideal healing of our surgical and laser patients. Michelle is an instructor of the Aesthetic Learning Academy, training health professionals on the safety and technique of aesthetic injectables.


Kay Barbera, LE

Aesthetician

Kay has been with the Aesthetic Associates Centre since 1998. She is a licensed aesthetician 


with a medical associate’s degree. Kay takes skin care very seriously. She feels it is easier to prevent than correct skin care flaws. You will hear all about how sunscreen is our best friend. However, correction is what we do best at the aesthetic associates centre. Come see Kay for chemical peels, microdermabrasion, hair removal, photo rejuvenation or just relax and unwind with a specialty facial especially designed for your skin care needs. Kay loves her work at the Aesthetic Associates Centre and would be happy to help you achieve your skin care goals. 


Natalie Talarico, LE

Aesthetician

Natalie is a licensed aesthetician and expert in the field of advanced skin care. She has the ability to properly analyze the skin and create a personalized treatment course of both skin care and advanced medical techniques to deliver outstanding results for her clients. Natalie is an advocate for the amazing medical advancements in both skin-care and in-office procedures, and also incorporates a holistic and balanced approached to achieving the desired outcome.  She is an instructor in the Aesthetic Learning Academy, training health professionals on aesthetic treatments and techniques.
